This is the evening when we highlight the successes of technology firms, organizations and programs in the region and the entrepreneurs, innovators, leaders and educators behind those successes.
We received 26 exceptional nominations for the seven awards that will presented at Tech Nite 13. Join us on May 1st when we will announce the deserving winners and present the awards.

Expansion to Global Markets Workshop

A workshop for area businesses interested in learning more about increasing their customer base by expanding from domestic to international
trade. Those who attend will learn why, when, and how to consider making international sales part of their firm's business growth strategy, what resources are available to assist them with planning for and beginning global trade, and will have been shown the
right first steps to launch an export initiative.
This "Expansion to Global Markets" workshop is the 3rd in the "Growing Together: Pathways to Business Renewal & Expansion" series
being offered by a collaboration of public and private organizations in the central Shenandoah Valley. The series is designed to help strengthen the region's economic vitality by making it easier for existing area firms to pursue advanced strategic paths
This workshop will begin with presentations by international trade experts with broad experience from the Virginia Small Business Development
Center (VSBDC) network, the International Trade division of the Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP), and the U.S. Department of Commerce Export Assistance Center. A second set of presentations will provide an overview of some of the more intricate
aspects of trading internationally such as customs, ports, and other issues related to goods crossing country borders;international finance issues; and international logistics.
To conclude the event, owners of several local businesses trading internationally will share their experiences and tips for successful
business expansion through exporting. Time will also be available for Q & A. Optional 1-on-1 afternoon meetings with individual workshop speakers will be available to attendees on a first-requested, first-scheduled basis.
