Member News:  PBGH & Witt Mares Announce Plans to Merge

We extend our congratulations to PBGH on the upcoming merger.  PBGH is one of our level III members and a strong supporter of the SVTC.

PBGH, LLP and Witt Mares, PLC plan to merge on January 1, 2013.  The new firm will create the largest group of CPAs practicing in a Virginia headquartered firm.

The two firms have long been friends and over time developed best practices together as non-competing firms. Because of this, they share a common business approach, vision and philosophy, which includes a strong and consistent commitment to client service, quality, professionalism, and dedication to the accounting profession and our community.  Together, they will increase their ability to deliver insight and foresight as clients face the challenges of the new economy.  The synergy of the alliance will enable them to meet all of their clients financial service needs in the coming years.

For those not familiar with Witt Mares, the firm was founded in 1979 and is a regional accounting and business consulting firm headquartered in Newport News, VA.  The firm also has offices in Fairfax, Richmond, Norfolk and Williamsburg.  Witt Mares provides its clients a broad range of business services in the areas of audit and accounting, tax planning and preparation, pension plan design/administration, merger and acquisition consulting and investment management.

The new name of the organization will be announced in January.
